Fuurin

Fuurin means bell in the wind. Its pleasant sound is reconnected to the summer. There are various types of Fuurin made from different materials, such as cast iron, ceramic or glass. From the bell hang some tubes, to which a piece of paper is tied, on which you can write a wish. Whenever the Fuurin plays, moved by the wind, it reminds you of your wish. Fuurin has two main purposes: it is thought that its delicate sound is able to cool the environment, thus making the sultry heat of summer less oppressive. On the other hand, the ancient tradition is still alive, according to which their sound keeps evil spirits away from inhabited places.
