Atsuko Matano


Atsuko Matano is a Japanese artist with many talents: designer, illustrator, writer recognized and appreciated all over the world. She began her career in 1979 as a designer for a Pandora's Box gift shop. In 1985, she founded La Merise, where she developed her unique brand of hers. She also started her writing career. In 1986, she created the Atsuko Matano brand while continuing to work as a designer for several brands. In 2000 you directed the first Towel Museum (ICHIHIRO) which highlights the art of the Japanese towel. At the same time, she continued her career as a novelist with a childish and playful universe. For several years she has also been working for theatrical productions that combine visual art and music. Her vision of her simple and beautiful world makes her a unique artist!
